I was very active in Montreal for a number of years before moving to Mississauga during COVID,I have promoted some shows in the Niagara Region but this will be my first crack at producing something in the GTA
WHAT IS THE NAME OF YOUR PROMOTIONS OR PRODUCTION COMPANY?
We are just launching a new venture called About Laugh Night. A new series of shows in alternative venues.
WHAT VENUE OR VENUES DO YOU PRIMARILY BOOK SHOWS?
I look for different places than most. I have produced shows in recording studios to after-hours clubs, I am all over the map.
WHEN AND WHERE DID YOUR LOVE OF COMEDY FORM?
Music? My parents, Comedy, weed, and some of my family as well.
HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN EVENT PROMOTION?
I was working for a cannabis publication at the time and they wanted to start engaging with their readers, so I was asked to run a comedy night.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST CONCERT YOU WENT TO?
Fuckin' Fred Penner. He was the man. After that I can’t really remember.. I got into some pretty heavy stuff there.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST “BIG SHOW” YOU PROMOTED?
Probably our run of “Rad Dads” At Just For Laughs Zoofest in Montreal. That was a great experience
WHAT WAS YOUR WORST SHOW OR FUNNIEST SHOW MEMORY?
The first time I was ever performing in my hometown comedy club,I happened to make eye contact with my wife’s aunt while the host was calling me up to the stage. I waved at my wifes aunt and she proceeded to projectile vomit and try to catch it with both hands, which did nothing other than slap vomit in two different directions… So I got to see that, then I went up and had a fun guest spot opening for British comedian James Mullinger.
