ORGAN THIEVES ANNOUNCE HAMILTON REUNION SHOW AS PART OF PAST PRESENTS FUTURE

By B.M Gonzo

Past Presents Future is a three day, multi genre music showcase featuring artists from Hamilton and the surrounding areas' past, present and future. The Christmas themed musice-scene-focused event is taking place at The Corktown Irish Pub December 7th, 8th, and 9th. Organizers promise that this year's instalment will be just as eclectic and high energy as its predecessor.

While headliners have yet to be revealed, the first wave of announced artists promote that the annual event is just as committed as ever to celebrating all genres of music and offers two stages of some of the best programming the area has to offer.

PAST PRESENTS FUTURE 2 ANNOUNCES ORGAN THIEVES REUNION AND MORE

Organ Thieves: Dave Baksh, Theo Mckibbon, Chuck Coles, Mike Smith

The first wave of announcements includes a rare reunion performance by Oshawa’s Organ Thieves.

Fronted by Chuck Coles (The Creepshow, Rules, United Snakes), Dave “Brownsound” Baksh (Sum 41) on guitar, Mike Smith (Summer Hero) on bass, and Matt Richmond (Grade, Catapult, Saint Alvia CartelThe Video Dead) filling in for original drummer Theo Mckibbon (Dead Tired, Monster Truck); Organ Thieves grew an impressive cult following throughout late 2009. Their acclaimed record, Somewhere Between Free Men And Slaves, is cherished amongst many and mandatory listening for fans of rock-based Americana punk. A band made up of mostly working players, the members of Organ Thieves went on semi hiatus in 2013 so members could tour with their respective other projects.

However, the group remained close friends and recently, when the tides are right, Organ Thieves will come together for the sake of their kinship in music. These occasions unfortunately don't happen too often. An Organ Thieves reunion indicates that the team behind PPF2 have some tricks up their sleeves when planning this years' line up.

Some other acts announced so far for Past PResents FUrute 2 include psychedelic hardcore quartet Rules, Hamilton’s critically acclaimed post hardcore rockers The Good Depression, post-punk supergroup Catapult, party lords Lo-Fi, and buzzed-about-face-melters Twin Banshee. You can see who has been announced so far here.
